Neil Havlik

Board President

 

Neil is the retired Natural Resources Manager of the City of San Luis Obispo and was involved in the formation of the Carrizo Plain National Monument, serving on the Monument Advisory Committee for 11 years. He continues to serve on the board of Friends of the Carrizo Plain.

Doug Drynan

VICE-PRESIDENT 

Doug has been working as a wildlife biologist in California for over 32 years, and has worked on a variety of projects from the Sierra Nevada, throughout the San Joaquin valley, the central coast region, and in the Carrizo Plain. His main expertise is birds, but he has extensive experience working with the suite of threatened and endangered animals found in the Carrizo. Visit LinkedIn profile

Steph Wald

Board Secretary

 

Steph is Watershed Projects Manager for Central Coast Salmon Enhancement (dba Creek Lands Conservation) and served as an independent biological monitor for California Valley Solar Ranch and Topaz Solar Farms on the Carrizo.

Anne Fairchild

Board Treasurer

 

Anne is the retired Water Quality Services Lab Manager for the City of San Luis Obispo. Anne has been visiting the Car­rizo since the mid 1980’s and is a Carrizo Plain landowner.

Lynne Dee Althouse

Board Member

 

Lynne Dee is a principal scientist with the consulting firm Althouse and Meade. She has extensive experience regarding the flora of central and coastal California, including the Carrizo Plain.

Dorothy Jennings

Board Member

 

Dorothy served on the Templeton Area Advisory Group for 14 years. She also served on the County Parks Commission and now serves on the County Trails Advisory Committee.

Candice Bell

Board Member

 

Candice is a licensed real estate broker in California. With a passion for nature, wilderness, and open spaces, she is dedicated to being involved with land acquisition projects for conservation in the Carrizo Plain.

Doug Campbell

Emeritus Board Member

 

Doug is a retired business executive active in conservation. Doug served as the Compliance Ombudsperson to implement settlements with Topaz Solar Farms and California Valley Solar Ranch.

Bill Buck
Conservation Coordinator

 

Bill Buck is a Central Coast conservationist and videographer, bringing 25 years of experience in multimedia production to the Conservancy. He has committed to utilizing technology to advance CPC’s work while also enjoying lots of time in the Carrizo Plain National Monument and other epic public lands across the West.
